The importance of our fiduciary responsibilities

We take our responsibility to you seriously.  We pledge to act solely on your behalf and in good faith.  Some advisors are not permitted by their company to perform all of the obligations of a fiduciary. 

To understand the standard of care your advisor is providing you, ask him or her the following questions:

  • Are you, the advisor, acting as my fiduciary?
  • Will you put my best interests first and foremost?
  • Will you act with prudence; that is, with the skill, care, diligence and good judgment of a professional?
  • Will you provide conspicuous, full, fair and transparent disclosure of all important fees and facts?
  • Will you avoid conflicts of interest whenever possible?
  • Will you fully disclose and fairly manage, in my favor, unavoidable conflicts?
  • Do you have required sales quotas and/or proprietary products?
  • Do you have required goals to gather additional (AUM) Assets Under Management?
  • Will you provide a written “Investment Policy Statement?”
  • What incentives can you earn in the form of trips or bonuses?

Your advisor should provide clear and concise answers to all of these questions and be willing to disclosure all information in writing.
